The General Council meeting of the All India Punjab National Bank Officers’ Association (AIPNBOA) for the 2025–28 term is scheduled to be held on 23rd November in Kolkata. The election for the key post of General Secretary (GS) has drawn considerable attention this term, with two prominent candidates in the fray.

The incumbent GS, Mr. Dilip Saha, who is currently retired, is contesting once again. Challenging him is Mr. Sreekumar K, a serving Branch Head from Kerala, who has gained momentum in recent days after releasing his manifesto.

Mr. Sreekumar’s campaign has resonated strongly with working officers, particularly due to his focus on operational reforms that directly affect day-to-day life in branches. In his manifesto released two days ago, he has made several key commitments:

  • Abolition of the Day-End Check System

  • Stopping routine work on holidays

  • No official meetings after 6 PM

These assurances target long-standing pain points of officers who have been seeking relief from extended and often unpredictable working hours. With these announcements, many officers have expressed a renewed sense of hope that their work–life balance may improve should Mr. Sreekumar be elected as the next General Secretary.

As the election date approaches, anticipation continues to build among the membership, with expectations that this year’s outcome could significantly shape the association’s direction and priorities for the next three years.
